If it's confusing people enough to request a change, I see no reason not to. A sensible and very simple suggestion.
He's implying that the regular gladius drops as Gladius. You don't see the mod until you identify it. But a fiery gladius will always drop with the name Fiery Gladius.

The only way to tell the difference between the two is if you know what the invintory icon looks like. Which is a poor design decision.

While we're at it, change the Barbed Axe, too. I've gotten a Barbed Barbed Axe before, and it was surreal...

The Fiery Gladius is actually worth something (though not near the price you used to be able to get for it), and I would hate to see someone get scammed out of money for buying a Gladius that has a fiery mod.

Sounds familiar. 'Thorny Axe' would be more descriptive and avoid the stutter

There were an axe called 'Schythe'. They changed that too.

I meant it drops unidentified, so a regular gladius cannot drop and have a fiery mod on it before you identify it, so there's no way you can get confused.

ok that makes more sense arkantos, otherwise i was gonna say wtf?? hehe

anyway i got nothing against new name to save the confusion, but i think anet should spend that time doing something more important like "Lock" char, etc.

fiery glaidus and normal gladius have two totally different skins/icons. i.e. when u c it in ur inventory, when u trade etc, u need glasses if u cant tell the diff btw two..

Now I'm not a programmer, but I'm guessing it would take less than 10 minutes to change the name from fiery gladius to something else. Having 1 programmer do that isn't going to waste any time for ANet to work on everything else they're working on.

seeing this post made me remember when i came across a guy claiming to be selling a glitched fiery gladius. I can see where the confusion is coming from, but at the same time I have been able to realize there are 2 different things and I wont be taken by som1 scamming or a confused seller
